MOONLIGHT GALA

THE STORY

The annual Moonlight Gala takes place every June at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in beautiful Kleinburg, Ontario. This year was the largest attendance yet, with over 700 guests exploring the galleries and stunning property. The event is a logistical masterpiece and took immaculate planning and execution by all parties to make the evening the success that it was.

Guests were greeted with a glass of wine while they walked down the path towards the exquisite tent outside the Grand Hall. In addition to the Mott’s Caesar Bar, there were delicious gourmet food stations featuring mini entrées by some of Toronto’s hottest chefs.

Hosted by CTV’s Ken Shaw, guests were able to bid on live and silent auction items ranging from hockey jerseys to a trip to the arctic, making it the most successful Moonlight Gala to-date. The entertainment was a true homage to Canada’s 150th, featuring a very rare performance by the Luthiers responsible for the Group of 7 Guitar Project, which was on display in the gallery. There was also an intimate guitar circle, which was headed by Canadian icon, Rik Emmett, of Triumph, and five of his friends: Don Ross, Emma Rush, Calum Graham, Brooke Miller and Dave Dunlop.

To close the evening with top-40 hits, the Great Hall heard the incredible sound of Montreal’s Rhapsody Orchestra, who had everyone on their feet until the very end.
