THE STORY
Our team was proud to produce the inaugural One Life Gala with the Gala Committee led by chair Tina Tehranchian.
It was an extraordinary evening in support of Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation’s Magic Castle—a play area for children whose parents are undergoing treatment within the hospital.
The highlight of the evening was a special tribute to seven high profile honourees, representing different walks of life, but all sharing one thing in common—overcoming cancer.
The videos featured riveting black and white images of the honourees Olivia Chow, Steve Donald, Avery and Neville Kirchmann, Michelle Munro, Annie Ramos and Libby Znaimer, who shared their stories about their battle with cancer and demonstrated their triumph and resilience.
Playing alongside the powerful visuals was the unique rendition of “Eye of the Tiger” performed by Canadian born Armenian-Indian Soprano and honouree Annie Ramos, talented violinist Emily Hau, and Broadway greats Valerie Stanois and Robert Ball.
Hosted by Live Eye reporter at Breakfast Television and host of the weekly show, “Things to Know in T.O.” Nicole Servinis, the action-packed evening included the following fun activations: health and beauty station by Dr. Pearlman, makeup and hairstyling station, specialty cocktails provided by Remedy and Laneway Distillers, Wine and chocolate tasting station provided by Marynissen Estates and Yorkville Chocolatier, whiskey bar by Maverick Distillery, and a candy station provided by John Vince Foods.
The Magic Castle at the @thepmcf is the only program of its kind in an adult cancer centre in Canada and provides childcare to approximately 1,000 children (12 years old and under) annually.
