DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY
THE STORY
2018 marked a very special double anniversary for Ryerson University. Seventy years ago, in 1948, the Ryerson Institute of Technology was founded under the visionary leadership of Howard H. Kerr. Twenty-five years ago, in 1993, Ryerson was granted full university status by the Ontario government, opening the door for graduate programs and funded research. In between these two milestones, Ryerson’s story is one of constant evolution and progress leading to the university becoming Canada’s leader in innovative, career-oriented education.
hala inc. was very proud and honored to be hired to project manage the double anniversary celebratory components. We worked closely with various departments including the President’s & Chancellor’s office, University Advancement, Alumni Relations, Provost Office, Public Affairs, Outreach, Equity & Community Inclusion, Ceremonials Office, RU Student Life and Marketing & Communications. We prepared the project plan, created the design elements and developed, managed and executed a complex installation schedule of various design elements including custom made photo opps, massive stage backdrop, branded linens, elevator and escalator vinyls and more for various campus events. These events included the Honarary Doctorates’ Gala Dinner, Convocation, Faculty Conference, Gould Street Anniversary Party, Orientation, Alumni Anniversary Reception and the G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Awards.
